Abstract:
A cord fastener (10) comprises: a cylindrical female member (30) having a first cord passage section (33) through which a cord or the like (20) can be passed and having an opening (31) at at least one end of the female member (30); a male member (40) supported so as to be capable of entering and exiting the opening (31) in the female member (30), the male member (40) having a second cord passage section (44) which can be in communication with the first cord passage section (33) and through which the cord or the like (20) having been passed through the first cord passage section (33) can be passed; and a pressing means (for example, a coiled spring)(50) provided between the female member (30) and the male member (40) and applying pressing force to the male member (40) in the direction in which the male member (40) protrudes from the opening (31) in the female member (30). The second cord passage section (44) of the male member (40) and the pressing means (for example, the coiled spring)(50) are located adjacent to each other. Facing surfaces of the female member (30) and the male member (40), the facing surfaces extending in the direction in which the cord or the like (20) having been passed through the first cord passage section (33) of the female member (30) extends, have formed thereon rectilinear portions (38, 39, 45, 49) capable of coming into at least linear contact with each other.
