Abstract:
Provided is a fiber which has an intact texture, blocks solar thermal radiation, can be produced while attaining satisfactory stability in a spinning step, and has the satisfactory property of running through a false twisting step. Also provided is a woven/knitted fabric which comprises the fiber and blocks thermal radiation. The core-sheath composite fiber comprises a core and a sheath and contains titanium dioxide in an amount of 1-3 mass%. The core comprises, as a main component, a resin having a refractive index of A, and the sheath comprises, as a main component, a resin having a refractive index of B, the A and B satisfying relationship (1). The woven/knitted fabric is configured of the core-sheath composite fiber so as to have a basis weight of 40-400 g/m2. |A-B|≥0.01 (1)
