Abstract:
A cork covered body formed by covering all or a part of the surface of a favorite food and cosmetics such as a lighter, a lipstick, and an atomizer with a cork body by utilizing such properties of cork material that, particularly, the cork material is low in weight and excellent in elasticity, flame resistance, corrosive resistance, and chemical resistance, and a method of manufacturing the cork covered body, the method comprising the steps of forming a storage part (14c) slightly smaller than the outer peripheral shape of a covered member (12) covered with the cork body (14) formed in the cork body (14) formed in a specified shape, expanding the cork body (14) by hot water or steam of 90ºC or higher to such a degree that the storage part (14c) is expanded to a size allowing the covered member (12) to be stored therein, inserting the covered member into the storage part (14c) of the cork body (14) in the expanded state of the cork body (14), and fitting the cork body (14) to the surface of the covered member (12) by cooling the cork body (14) for contraction.
