Abstract:
In one aspect, the invention provides methods for separating a corn fiber lipid fraction from corn fiber and novel corn fiber oils prepared therefrom. In another aspect, the invention provides methods of obtaining derivatizable cellulose from corn fiber and methods preparing cellulose esters and ethers therefrom. Still further, the invention provides methods of extracting arabinoxylan from corn fiber and novel arabinoxylan esters and ethers prepared therefrom. Yet further, the invention provides methods of extracting monosaccharides from corn fiber.
