Abstract:
A cosmetic composition containing α-mangostin, a method for preparation thereof, and uses thereof. Experimentation shows that α-mangostin is strongly UV-absorbent in the 290-320nm UVB range, and weakly absorbent in the 320-400nm UVA range, and can be used as a complement to other sunscreen agents. α-mangostin serves to enhance the sun-blocking effect of some sunscreen agents and accordingly has a wide range of application in cosmetic products, particularly in sunscreen compositions.
