Abstract:
A powder cosmetic is provided which is long-lasting and has excellent finish and usability, and which, while maintaining hiding power, has an excellent function of transmitting more light in a long-wavelength region (red light selective transmission function). This powder cosmetic is characterized containing 1-30 mass% titanium dioxide powder and 0.1-10 mass% hydrophobization treated zinc oxide, wherein the titanium dioxide powder consists of particles which have an apparent average particle diameter of greater than or equal to 100 nm and less than 500 nm, an average particle diameter of 15-30 nm measured by x-ray diffraction, a specific surface area of 10-30 m²/g, and a shape of coagulated radially projecting needle-shape protrusions, the ratio of the long diameter and the short diameter of the shape (long diameter / short diameter) of said particles being 1.0-2.5.
