Abstract:
A coumarin compound represented by the general formula (1); a process for producing a coumarin compound represented by the general formula (1) via the step of reacting a compound having an aldehyde group with a compound having an active methylene group; a luminescent agent for organic electroluminescent elements which comprises a coumarin compound represented by the general formula (1); an organic electroluminescent element; and a display panel and an information display which each employs the organic electroluminescent element. General formula (1): Φ (Z)m (In the general formula (1), Φ represents an aromatic ring, heterocycle, or a combination thereof; Z's are the same or different and each represents a coumarin residue represented by the general formula (2); and m is an integer of 2 or larger).
