Abstract:
The present invention relates to a counterfeit preventing medium that has unique design properties and can determine authenticity easily and at a high level. This counterfeit preventing medium includes a supporting base material, an OVD forming layer, and a latent image layer in this order. The latent image layer has a plurality of regions with optical axes of birefringence material oriented in directions different from each other. The OVD forming layer includes a textured structure forming layer formed from a first region and a second region, and a reflective layer. The first region is a region formed from a flat part and a plurality of protruding parts or recessed parts. The second region is formed from a flat part. Each of the plurality of protruding parts and recessed parts has a 0.3 - 5 µm long side dimension and short side dimension and height or depth of 0.1 - 0.5 µm. In the first region: the area occupied by the plurality of protruding parts or recessed parts is 20 - 80%; the plurality of protruding parts or recessed parts are orderly disposed; and the height of the plurality of protruding parts or depth of recessed parts is substantially identical.
