Abstract:
A flexible unit which absorbs misalignment and transmits torque from a drive shaft to a driven shaft is provided between a pair of flanges provided respectively to the drive shaft side and the driven shaft side, which are both hollow. A connection passage which connects the hollow regions of the drive shaft and the driven shaft to form a flow space for a cooling fluid is provided in the flexible unit, and a flow of the cooling fluid which internally cools a drive source for driving and rotating the drive shaft is formed within the flow space. A seal section seals between the flow space and an outside space to prevent the cooling fluid from leaking from the flow space to the outside space.
