Abstract:
In a contact for electrically connecting a flat crimped terminal provided with a mounting hole or slit, a stable electrically connected state is obtained by solely inserting the crimped terminal of a cable without requiring a fastening screw, by way of a crimped terminal contact (1) having: a flat base portion (1a) whereon the crimped terminal is laid; a connecting terminal (1b) formed in such a way as to clamp the crimped terminal inserted parallelly to the base portion from one side and laying on the base portion, said terminal having a connecting portion formed at the front extremity that presses against the crimped terminal to be connected thereto; a retaining locking tongue (1e) having a cut and raised portion (1f) which has been cut and raised from the base portion in an orthogonal direction to serve as a crimped terminal retaining member that, when the crimped terminal is inserted parallelly to the base portion, is pushed by the crimped terminal against a biasing force and downward to a plane situated lower than the base portion, and when the crimped terminal reaches a predetermined position, said cut and raised portion is caused to protrude to the upper side from the base portion by the biasing force, thereby locking onto the crimped terminal; and an elastic lock release tongue (1h) formed in such a way as to release the locked state between the crimped terminal and the retaining locking tongue.
