Abstract:
Provided are: a cross-conjugated polymer having hole-transport properties, solubility, and suitability for forming a film using a coating technique; a material for an organic electroluminescent element and a material for an electronic component comprising said polymer; a solution containing said polymer; and an organic electroluminescent element. The organic electroluminescent element has a negative electrode, a positive electrode, and one or more organic thin film layers disposed between the negative electrode and the positive electrode, said one or more organic thin film layers including a light emission layer, wherein: at least one of the one or more organic thin film layers includes a hole injection layer and/or a hole transport layer; and the hole injection layer and/or the hole transportation layer contains a cross-conjugated polymer that contains, as repeating units, structural units (A) for forming a cross-conjugated system and contains, as a side chain, a substituent X that has at least one site selected from an aryl amine site, a carbazole site, and an indole site.
