Abstract:
A device according to an aspect of the present invention is for assessing whether it is possible for platooning vehicles to cross an intersection, said device comprising: a computation part for computing the first distance, second distance, and third distance described below; and an assessment part for, on the basis of the result of a comparison among the first distance, second distance, and third distance, assessing a device for assessing whether it is possible for the platooning vehicles to cross the intersection. First distance: distance from stop line of intersection to position of head vehicle at present time, Second distance: distance remaining when length of platoon has been subtracted from distance to be traveled in remaining green light time at current vehicle speed, Third distance: distance for head vehicle to safely stop behind stop line of intersection at current vehicle speed.
