Abstract:

A crosslinkable fluoroaromtaic prepolymer which can give a cured article having a low relative permittivity, high heat resistance, low birefringence, and high flexibility. It is a crosslinkable fluoroaromatic prepolymer obtained by condensing a compound (Y-1) having a crosslinkable functional group (A) and a phenolic hydroxy group and/or a compound (Y-2) having the group (A) and a fluorinated aromatic ring with a fluoroaromatic compound (B) represented by the formula (1) (1) (wherein n is an integer of 0 to 2; a and b each independently is an integer of 0 to 3; and Rf¹ and Rf² each represents C₈ or lower fluoroalkyl) and a compound (C) having three or more phenolic hydroxy groups in the presence of an agent for eliminating HF, the prepolymer having crosslinkable functional groups (A) and ether bonds and having a number-average molecular weight of 1×10³ to 5×10⁵.
