Abstract:

The present invention acquires a normal vector or a curvature for each of a plurality of peaks that are included in data relating to an intra-oral shape which includes the shape of a crown of at least one tooth, the plurality of peaks defining the intra-oral shape. On the basis of the acquired normal vector or curvature, the present invention then extracts a peak group that defines the shape of the crown of the at least one tooth from among the plurality of peaks, and outputs the extracted peak group as crown shape information that specifies a crown portion of the intra-oral shape. Consequently, automatic building of a database of crown shapes can be achieved.
