Abstract:
A cryogenic refrigerator 100 comprises: a displacer 12; a cylinder 10 forming an expansion space 24 together with the displacer 12; a Scotch yoke mechanism 14 for moving the displacer 12 in a reciprocating manner; a first rod 38 that protrudes from the Scotch yoke mechanism 14; a housing 16 having an assist chamber 62 that accommodates the distal end of the first rod 38; a rotary valve 19 that switches between a state in which the expansion space 24 and the discharge side of a compressor 1 are connected and the assist chamber 62 and the air intake side of the compressor 1 are connected, and a state in which the expansion space 24 and the air intake side of the compressor 1 are connected and the assist chamber 62 and the discharge side of the compressor 1 are connected; a motor 18 that drives the Scotch yoke mechanism 14 and drives the rotary valve 19; and an open/close valve 88 that opens and closes a gas flow path L4 connecting the rotary valve 19 and the assist chamber 62.
