Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a crystal oscillation element with which it is possible to suppress an increase in a crystal impedance value. The crystal oscillation element of the present invention is provided with: a crystal section; a first excitation electrode disposed on a first major surface of the crystal section; and a second excitation electrode disposed on a second major surface of the crystal section so as to overlap the first excitation electrode when viewed from a first direction aligned with the normal to the first major surface. The first major surface has a rectangular shape having a first long side and a first short side. The crystal section has a projection. In an overlap region between the first excitation electrode and the second excitation electrode, when viewed from the first direction, portions on a most one side and another side in the direction along the first short side are respectively defined as first and second outer-most portions, and portions on a most one side and another side along the first long side are respectively defined as third and fourth outer-most portions, wherein the projection is only disposed on the outside the interval between a pair of straight lines along the first long side and respectively passing the first and second outer-most portions, and on the outside of the interval between a pair of straight lines along the first short side and respectively passing the third and fourth outer-most portions.
