Abstract:
The present invention provides: crystals of a monovalent cation salt of 3-hydroxyisovaleric acid (also referred to as "HMB"), which have excellent solubility and are easy to handle; and a method for producing the crystals. Crystals of a monovalent cation salt of HMB is precipitated in an aqueous HMB solution which contains a compound containing a monovalent cation and has a pH value of 4.0 to 9.0, and subsequently the crystals of the monovalent cation salt of HMB are collected from the aqueous solution.
