Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for channel state information (CSI) forwarding in sidelink (SL). In certain aspects, a method performed by a SL device generally includes determining channel state information (CSI) for a SL channel between the SL device and another SL device, and transmitting the CSI to a base station (BS). In certain aspects, a method performed by a BS generally includes receiving CSI for a SL channel between a SL device and another SL device, and sending a resource allocation to at least one of the SL device or the another SL device based on the CSI.
