Title:
CuPd ALLOY NANOPARTICLES AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2010/131653
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Disclosed are: CuPd alloy nanoparticles which have sufficient catalytic activity and poisoning resistance even when used as a photocatalyst or an electrode catalyst for a fuel cell; a method for producing the CuPd alloy nanoparticles; and a catalyst composition using the CuPd alloy nanoparticles. Specifically disclosed are CuPd alloy nanoparticles which have a B2 or L12 crystal structure, an average particle diameter of 1-200 nm and are expressed as CuxPd(1-x) (wherein 0.3 < x < 0.7 when the CuPd alloy nanoparticles have a B2 crystal structure, and 0.7 ≤ x ≤ 0.98 when the CuPd alloy nanoparticles have an L12 crystal structure). Also specifically disclosed are: a method for producing CuPd nanoparticles, wherein a dispersion liquid or solution of Cu ions and Pd ions is prepared by dispersing or dissolving Cu ions and Pd ions in water or an aqueous solution in the presence of a protective polymer, and then a reducing agent for the Cu ions and Pd ions is added into the thus-obtained dispersion liquid or solution, thereby reducing the Cu ions and Pd ions and producing CuPd nanoparticles; a composition which contains the CuPd alloy nanoparticles and a protective polymer; and a catalyst composition in which the CuPd alloy nanoparticles are supported by a carrier.
