Abstract:
A method for obtaining Culex quinquefasciatus comprises: artificially infecting Culex quinquefasciatus with a wAlbA strain from Aedes albopictus. The method induces a high level of CI (95-100%) in Culex quinquefasciatus artificially infected with the wAlbA strain from Aedes albopictus. Releasing the Culex quinquefasciatus obtained by the above method into the wild can significantly reduce the egg-laying rate of Culex quinquefasciatus, thereby effectively control offspring and population size of Culex quinquefasciatus, and accordingly effectively reducing the occurrence and spread of mosquito-borne diseases, such as epidemic encephalitis B.
