Description:

Cultivating tool, point and guide rail for agricultural machine

The invention relates to a cultivating tool for an agricultural machine according to the preamble to Patent Claim 1, to a point for a cultivating tool of an agricultural machine according to the preamble to Patent Claim 5, and to a guide rail for a cultivating tool of an agricultural machine according to the preamble to Patent Claim 8.

BACKGROUND ART

Agricultural machines for cultivating are often provided with a number of tools, in the form of shanks provided with a point, and a guide rail configured to achieve the desired cultivating and to create a desired soil flow around the tool.

The point and the guide rail are often fixed to the shank with two screw joints each. This proves to be a good solution which also prevents relative rotation between the parts. The parts constitute wearing parts and have to be changed relatively frequently by the farmer.

OBJECT OF INVENTION

The object of the invention is to provide a cultivating tool and a point and guide rail which allow simple and rapid changing without functional impairment. The solution should also be cost-effective as regards construction and fitting.

DISCLOSURE OF INVENTION

The above objects of the invention are solved by, according to Patent Claim 1, providing locking elements of the point and the guide rail which cooperate with locking elements of the shank. These locking elements prevent rotation, which means that only one screw joint is required for the point and guide rail, which simplifies the changing procedure.

According to Patent Claim 2, the locking elements are constituted by projecting portions of the point and the guide rail, which cooperate with recesses in the shank. This gives a simple functioning with few parts.

Patent Claim 3 shows a preferred detailed configuration, in which the projecting portions are produced by machining of the point and the guide rail, without the need for further components to be applied to the solution.

Patent Claim 5 defines a point which can be used for the tool having the abovementioned advantages, whilst Patent Claims 6 and 7 define preferred embodiments thereof.

Finally, Patent Claim 8 defines a guide rail which can be used for the tool having the abovementioned advantages, whilst Patent Claims 9 and 10 define preferred embodiments thereof.

Further characteristic features and advantages of the invention are described in greater detail below with the aid of an illustrative embodiment with reference to the appended figure, which shows a part of a tool according to the invention inclusive of a point and a part of a guide rail.

MODE FORCARRYING OUT THE INVENTION

The cultivating tool shown in the figure comprises as basic parts a shank 2, a point 10 and a guide rail 20.

The point 10 comprises a lower point end 12 and an upper end 14. A through- hole 16 is disposed between the ends. The point is secured to the shank 2 by a screw 30, which passes through the hole 16 and a hole 8 through the shank and is locked with a nut 32 to that side 7 of the shank 2 which is facing away from the point 10.

The guide rail 20 comprises a lower end 22 and an upper end (not shown). A through-hole 26 is disposed between the ends. The guide rail is secured to the shank 2 in a corresponding manner by a screw 34, which passes through the hole 26 and a hole 9 through the shank and is locked with a nut 36 to that side 7 of the shank 2 which is facing away from the guide rail 10.

On the upper end 14 of the point, a locking element 18 is disposed according to the invention. The locking element is constituted by a projecting portion 18, which cooperates with a corresponding locking element in the form of a recess

6 in the shank 2. Rotation between the point 10 and the shank 2 is hereby prevented. In the same way, on the lower end 22 of the guide rail 20, a locking element 22 is disposed according to the invention. The locking element is constituted by a projecting portion 28, which cooperates with a corresponding locking element in the form of the recess 6 in the shank 2. Rotation between the guide rail 20 and the shank 2 is hereby prevented.

The projecting portion 18, 28 is expediently configured by direct machining of the point and the guide rail, expediently by pressing or bending.

The upper end 14 of the point 10 advantageously bears against the lower end 22 of the guide rail 20. This also gives (apart from favourable cultivating) a certain relative locking of the integral parts.

The invention can be modified in a number of ways within the scope of the patent claims. Thus locking can be achieved in a number of ways, for example the recess 6 can be replaced by a lug which cooperates with recesses in the point and the guide rail. In addition, the locking element can be constituted by two lugs arranged to bear against either side of the shank.
