Abstract:
Disclosed therein are a cupping moxa cautery device and a cupping moxa cautery system using the cupping moxa cautery device, which can carry out cupping therapy and moxa cautery therapy at the same time. The cupping moxa cautery device includes a lower case and an upper case. The lower case includes a cylindrical outer wall, a cylindrical inner wall, a cylindrical moxa cautery furnace formed inside the inner wall and communicating with the upper part of the lower case, a cylindrical band type cupping furnace formed between the outer wall and the inner wall and closed at the upper portion thereof, the upper portion communicated with the moxa cautery furnace inside the outer wall and opened to the outside, and a vacuum regulator combined to the outer wall of the lower portion of the lower case from the outside to the cupping furnace in order to control inflow and outflow of the air on the cupping furnace. The upper case has a closed type upper surface, an O-ring combined to the circumference of the lower portion of the upper case, the lower portion inserted and combined to the lower case in such a way that the lower portion is supported by the outer wall of the lower case, and a cavity formed therein which is communicated from the upper surface to the moxa cautery furnace of the lower case. On the upper surface of the upper case, a smoke inlet for supplying moxa smoke from the outside to the cavity and a smoke outlet for discharging moxa smoke of the cavity to the outside are arranged at positions corresponding to each other from the center of the upper surface.

Claims:

Claims

[1] A cupping moxa cautery device which can carry out cupping therapy and moxa cautery therapy at the same time, the cupping moxa cautery device comprising: a lower case having a cylindrical outer wall, a cylindrical inner wall, a cylindrical moxa cautery furnace formed inside the inner wall and communicating with the upper part of the lower case, and a cylindrical band type cupping furnace formed between the outer wall and the inner wall and closed at the upper portion thereof, the upper portion of the lower case being opened to the outside and communicating with the moxa cautery furnace inside the outer wall, wherein a vacuum regulator is combined to the outer wall of the lower portion of the lower case from the outside to the cupping furnace in order to control inflow and outflow of the air on the cupping furnace; and an upper case having a closed upper surface, an O-ring combined to the periphery of the lower portion thereof, the lower portion thereof being inserted and combined to the outer wall of the lower case in such a way that the lower portion of the upper case is supported by the outer wall of the lower case, a cavity formed therein communicating from the upper surface to the moxa cautery furnace of the lower case, a smoke inlet formed on the upper surface for supplying moxa smoke from the outside to the cavity, and a smoke outlet formed at a position corresponding to the smoke inlet from the center of the upper surface for discharging moxa smoke of the cavity to the outside, whereby moxa smoke generated by burning moxa from the outside is circulated through the smoke inlet and the smoke outlet.

[2] The cupping moxa cautery device according to claim 1, further comprising a heating unit combined to the center of the upper surface between the smoke inlet and the smoke outlet of the upper case, the heating unit having a heating element generating heat by electricity and inserted and located into the cavity to heat moxa smoke inside the cavity.

[3] The cupping moxa cautery device according to claim 2, wherein the upper and lower cases are made of nylon synthetic resin, and the upper case has a coupling hole formed at the center of the upper surface of the upper case for combining the heating unit, wherein the heating unit is made of the same material as the upper and lower cases, is inserted and located into the cavity from the outside in a state where the heating element is mounted therein, and includes: a support tube mounted on the upper portion protruding to the outside, the support tube having a flange formed on the outer circumference thereof; and

a coupling tube having a flange formed at an end thereof, a screw formed on the outer circumference of the other end thereof, the flange being held and connected to the inner circumference of the upper surface, the other end thereof protruding to the outside through the coupling hole to support the support tube, and a fixing ring coupled to the flange of the support tube from the outside and coupled with the screw to fix the support tube.

[4] The cupping moxa cautery device according to claim 3, further comprising a shielding portion protruding outwardly in integration with the upper surface of the upper case and formed in a cylindrical shape to locate the coupling tube therein and surround the coupling tube, the shielding portion having cut portions formed at both sides to hold the coupling tube at both sides.

[5] The cupping moxa cautery device according to one of claims 1 to 4, wherein the upper and lower cases respectively have radiation fins formed on the outer peripheries thereof in a circumferential direction in a concavo-convex form.

[6] A cupping moxa cautery system which can carry out cupping therapy and moxa cautery therapy at the same time by using the cupping moxa cautery device of Claim 1, the cupping moxa cautery system comprising: a pump having an air suction hole and an air discharge hole for discharging the air sucked through the air suction hole to the air discharge hole; and a moxa smoke generator having a moxa pot held therein, an air suction hole mounted on the upper portion thereof and connected with the air discharge hole of the pump, a smoke discharge hole formed at a side thereof below the moxa pot, whereby moxa smoke generated by burning moxa of the moxa pot is discharged to the smoke discharge hole by the air supplied from the pump, wherein the air suction hole of the pump and the smoke outlet of the cupping moxa cautery device are connected with each other through a smoke exhaust line, and the smoke discharge hole of the moxa smoke generator and the smoke inlet of the cupping moxa cautery device are connected with each other through a smoke supply line, whereby moxa smoke formed in the moxa smoke generator is supplied and flown to the cupping moxa cautery device so as to carry out cupping therapy and moxa cautery therapy using the cupping moxa cautery device.

[7] A cupping moxa cautery system which can carry out cupping therapy and moxa cautery therapy at the same time by using the cupping moxa cautery device of Claim 2, the cupping moxa cautery system comprising: a pump having an air suction hole and an air discharge hole for discharging the air sucked through the air suction hole to the air discharge hole; a moxa smoke generator having a moxa pot held therein, an air suction hole

mounted on the upper portion thereof and connected with the air discharge hole of the pump, a smoke discharge hole formed at a side thereof below the moxa pot, whereby moxa smoke generated by burning moxa of the moxa pot is discharged to the smoke discharge hole by the air supplied from the pump; and a controller for controlling an operational speed of the pump and strength of electricity supplied to the heating element of the cupping moxa cautery device, wherein the air suction hole of the pump and the smoke outlet of the cupping moxa cautery device are connected with each other through a smoke exhaust line, and the smoke discharge hole of the moxa smoke generator and the smoke inlet of the cupping moxa cautery device are connected with each other through a smoke supply line, whereby moxa smoke formed in the moxa smoke generator is supplied and flown to the cupping moxa cautery device so as to carry out cupping therapy and moxa cautery therapy using the cupping moxa cautery device, and wherein temperature of moxa smoke in the cupping moxa cautery device can be controlled by controlling electricity supplied to the heating element of the cupping moxa cautery device.

[8] The cupping moxa cautery system according to claim 6 or 7, wherein the moxa smoke generator includes a moxa cautery portion formed at the lower part thereof and communicating with the upper part thereof on which the moxa pot is held, and a cupping portion closed from the upper part and the moxa cautery portion by the inner wall formed around the moxa cautery portion and tightly sealed by the outer wall, whereby cupping therapy and moxa cautery therapy can be carried out while moxa smoke is supplied to the cupping moxa cautery device.

[9] The cupping moxa cautery system according to claim 6 or 7, wherein the air suction hole of the pump and the vacuum regulator of the cupping moxa cautery device are connected with each other through a vacuum line, whereby the degree of vacuum on the cupping furnace of the cupping moxa cautery device is always controlled to a fixed level by the pump to carry out a cupping massage while the cupping moxa cautery device is moved.

Description

CUPPING MOXA CAUTERY DEVICE AND CUPPLING MOXA CAUTERY SYSTEM USING THE CUPPING MOXA CAUTERY

DEVICE

Technical Field

[1] The present invention relates to a cupping moxa cautery device and a cupping moxa cautery system using the cupping moxa cautery device, and more particularly, to a cupping moxa cautery device, which can be used together with a cupping moxa cautery device previously invented by the same inventor as the present invention, and a cupping moxa cautery system using the cupping moxa cautery device, thereby simultaneously carrying out cupping therapy and moxa cautery therapy widely used as Chinese medical treatment. Background Art

[2] The inventor of the present invention who realized effects of moxa cautery therapy and cupping therapy used in Chinese medical treatment has proposed a cupping moxa cautery device, which can simultaneously provide the effects of moxa cautery and cupping therapy, in Korean Patent No. 0,419,721.

[3] FIG. 1 is a sectional view showing a cupping moxa cautery device proposed in

Korean Patent No. 0,419,721 by the same inventor as the present invention.

[4] Referring to FIG. 1, the cupping moxa cautery device 500 proposed by the inventor includes: a body 510; a holder 512 formed inside the body 510 for holding a moxa pot 530 thereon; a moxa cautery portion 516 formed at the lower part of the body 510 and communicating with the upper part of the body 510 on which the moxa pot 530 is held; and a cupping portion 518 closed from the upper part of the body 510 and the moxa cautery portion 516 by an inner wall 514 formed around the moxa cautery portion 516, the cupping portion 518 being tightly sealed by the outer wall 515. In addition, the cupping moxa cautery device 500 further includes: a smoke discharge hole 560 located below the holder 512 and above the moxa cautery portion 516, formed at a side of the body 510, and communicating with the moxa pot 530; a cover 540 having a suction hole formed on the top of the body 500; and an air inflow tube 550 for connecting an air pump and the suction hole with each other in order to forcedly induce the air into the body 510, whereby heat and smoke are moved to the lower portion of the moxa cautery portion 516 when moxa of the moxa pot 530 is burned, and then discharged to the outside through the smoke discharged hole 560.

[5] The cupping moxa cautery device 500 can carry out cupping therapy and moxa cautery therapy, and so, provide effects of cupping and moxa cautery therapies at the

same time.

[6] Moreover, Korean Patent Application No. 10-2004-0054162 invented by the same inventor as the present invention discloses a "cupping moxa cautery device", which can effectively prevent that heat generated during moxa cautery and easily remove sap of moxa adhered on the inner wall of the cupping moxa cautery device by improving a structure of the previously described cupping moxa cautery device. Korean Patent Application No. 10-2004-0018938 discloses a "device for removing smoke generated during moxa cautery", which can effectively remove smoke generated during use of the above cupping moxa cautery device (and moxa cautery device) so that a user can use the cupping moxa cautery device in an agreeable indoor environment. Korean Utility Model Registration No. 0358706 discloses a "cupping moxa cautery device", which can prevent a drop of ashes of moxa onto a user's body skin by mounting a filtering part on the inner periphery of a moxa cautery part.

[7] As described above, the cupping moxa cautery devices proposed by the same inventor as the present invention are characterized in that the inner part of the lower part of the body which is in contact with the user's skin is divided into the inner moxa cautery portion and the outer cupping portion, wherein the moxa pot is located in the inner moxa cautery portion for carrying out moxa cautery therapy and the outer cupping portion carries out cupping therapy through a vacuum, whereby the cupping moxa cautery device can carry out cupping therapy and moxa cautery therapy at the same time.

[8] Since the cupping moxa cautery devices previously proposed by the same inventor as the present invention are used while burning moxa contained therein, they have a problem in treatment of heat, and smoke and ashes generated by burning moxa. To solve the above problem, the inventor of the present invention has proposed the "cupping moxa cautery device" in Korean Patent Application No. 10-2004-0054162, the "device for removing smoke generated during moxa cautery" in Korean Patent Application No. 10-2004-0018938, and the "cupping moxa cautery device" in Korean Utility Model Registration No. 0358706. Disclosure of Invention Technical Problem

[9] The inventor felt that there was a need to more improve performances of the cupping moxa cautery devices invented by the same inventor as the present invention through various clinical demonstrations and utilizations. That is, the inventor felt a necessity to positively cope with a demand to apply it to various parts of a human body in an actual use and a demand of a massage. For instance, generally, moxa cautery therapy is applied to various parts of the human body, (head, the sole of the foot,

knees, and so on), and cupping therapy is to enhance a cupping effect through a massage on a specific part (particularly, the back).

[10] Moreover, the cupping moxa cautery devices invented by the same inventor as the present invention provides the moxa cautery and cupping effects at the same time, but has several problems in that preparation work and finishing work are complicated somewhat if a number of cupping devices are used, and in that it is restricted in the use number due to the structure of the moxa pot, compared with the typical cupping device and the moxa cautery device. Technical Solution

[11] Therefore, it is an object of the present invention to provide an improved cupping moxa cautery device and a cupping moxa cautery system using the cupping moxa cautery device, which can freely apply cupping therapy and moxa cautery therapy to any part of a human body at the same time, which can be used as many as the use number of the typical cupping devices, and which can provide convenience in preparation work and finishing work.

[12] Particularly, it is another object of the present invention to provide an improved cupping moxa cautery device which can be used together with the cupping moxa cautery device previously invented by the same inventor as the present invention, and a cupping moxa cautery system using the improved cupping moxa cautery device which can provide not only a massage therapy of cupping therapy but also moxa cautery therapy by applying the improved cupping moxa cautery device and the cupping moxa cautery device previously invented by the same inventor as the present invention.

Advantageous Effects

[13] The cupping moxa cautery system using the cupping moxa cautery device according to the present invention can be manufactured in a compact size, applied to various parts of the human body, and increase the use number against a wide part, such as the back or the stomach. Moreover, since the cupping moxa cautery system is as small as it can be grasped with the user's hand, the cupping moxa cautery system can enhance the cupping effect and the moxa cautery effect by applying a massage effect used in cupping therapy. Furthermore, the cupping moxa cautery system can enhance the moxa cautery effect and the cupping effect through a simple structure since it can heat moxa smoke induced into the cupping moxa cautery device by mounting a heating unit having a heating element. In addition, the cupping moxa cautery system according to the present invention can use a number of the cupping moxa cautery devices through simple preparation work and make finishing work simple since moxa smoke generated from one moxa smoke generator is connected to a number of the cupping moxa cautery devices. Additionally, the cupping moxa cautery system can increase the use number

of the cupping moxa cautery devices if the heating unit is added to the cupping moxa cautery device. Moreover, when the cupping moxa cautery system carries out massage therapy using the cupping moxa cautery device, the cupping moxa cautery system can carry out massage therapy conveniently since a vacuum can be obtained through the air suction hole of the pump during cupping therapy. [14] FIG. 1 is a sectional view for explaining a cupping moxa cautery device disclosed in Korean Patent No. 0,419,721 invented by the same inventor as the present invention.

[21] Reference will now be made in detail to the preferred embodiments of the present invention, examples of which are illustrated in the accompanying drawings.

[22] FIG. 2 is a view for explaining a technical spirit of a cupping moxa cautery device according to the present invention.

[23] Referring to FIG. 2, a cupping moxa cautery device 10 according to the present invention includes a lower case 20 and an upper case 40 which are designed specially. The lower case 20 includes a cylindrical outer wall 22, a cylindrical inner wall 24, a cylindrical moxa cautery furnace 28 formed inside the inner wall 24 and communicating with the upper part of the lower case 20, and a cylindrical band type cupping furnace 26 formed between the outer wall 22 and the inner wall 24 and closed at the upper portion thereof. The upper portion of the lower case 20 is communicated with the moxa cautery furnace 28 inside the outer wall 22 and opened to the outside, and a vacuum regulator 30 is combined to the outer wall 22 of the lower portion of the lower case 20 from the outside to the cupping furnace 26 in order to control inflow and outflow of the air on the cupping furnace 26. The upper case 40 has a closed type upper surface 42. An O-ring 52 is combined to the circumference of the lower portion

44 of the upper case 40, and the lower portion 44 is inserted and combined to the lower case 20 in such a way that the lower portion 44 is supported by the outer wall 22 of the lower case 20. The upper case 40 includes a cavity 46 formed therein which is communicated from the upper surface 42 to the moxa cautery furnace 28 of the lower case 20. On the upper surface 42 of the upper case 40, a smoke inlet 48 for supplying moxa smoke for moxa cautery from the outside to the cavity 46 and a smoke outlet 50 for discharging moxa smoke of the cavity 46 to the outside are arranged at positions corresponding to each other from the center of the upper surface 42.

[24] As described above, the cupping moxa cautery device 10 according to the present invention can carry out the basic functions of the cupping moxa cautery device previously invented by the same invention as the present invention, namely, cupping therapy and moxa cautery therapy, but is different in the assembled structure and operation from the previously invented cupping moxa cautery device. That is, the cupping moxa cautery device 10 according to the present invention can be manufactured compactly, since the upper and lower cases 40 and 20 are combined with each other in a simple fitting way, and the O-ring 52 is sealably mounted between the upper and lower cases 40 and 20 to prevent a free separation of the upper and lower cases, and its assembled structure is simple. Furthermore, the smoke inlet 48 and the smoke outlet 50 formed on the upper surface 42 of the upper case 40 are mounted in the opposite positions, so that moxa smoke generated by burning moxa from the outside can be circulated through the smoke inlet 48 and the smoke outlet 50, whereby cupping therapy and moxa cautery therapy can be carried out at the same time.

[25] Therefore, the cupping moxa cautery device 10 according to the present invention can be applied to various parts of the human body and increase the use number thereof against a wide part such as the back or the stomach since it is more compact than the cupping moxa cautery device previously invented by the same inventor as the present invention. In addition, the cupping moxa cautery device 10 according to the present invention has a size as small as a user can grasp it with his or her hand, so that it can increase cupping and moxa cautery effects since a massage therapy used in the cupping therapy can be applied. Moreover, like a preferred embodiment of the present invention which will be described later, a heating unit 60 having a heating element 90 is mounted in the cavity 46 so as to heat moxa smoke induced into the cavity 46 of the cupping moxa cautery device 10, whereby the cupping moxa cautery device 10 can enhance the cupping and moxa cautery effects through the simple structure.

[26] FIG. 3 is a view for explaining a technical spirit of a system using the cupping moxa cautery device of FIG. 2.

[27] Referring to FIG. 3, a cupping moxa cautery system 200 according to the present invention is configured by using the cupping moxa cautery device 10 of FIG. 2. The

cupping moxa cautery system 200 basically includes the previously described cupping moxa cautery device 10, a pump 210, and a moxa smoke generator 220. The pump 210 includes an air suction hole 214 and an air discharge hole 212 to discharge the air sucked through the air suction hole 214 to the air discharge hole 212. The moxa smoke generator 220 includes a moxa pot 221 held therein, an air suction hole formed on the upper portion thereof and communicated with the air discharge hole 212 of the pump 210, and a smoke discharge hole 224 formed at a side of the lower portion of the moxa pot 221, whereby moxa smoke generated by burning moxa of the moxa pot 221 is discharged to the smoke discharge hole 224 by the air supplied from the pump 210.

[28] The cupping moxa cautery system 200 connects the air suction hole 214 of the pump 210 with the smoke outlet 50 of the cupping moxa cautery device 10 through a smoke exhaust line 246 and connects the smoke discharge hole 224 of the moxa smoke generator 220 with the smoke inlet 48 of the cupping moxa cautery device 10 through a smoke supply line 242, so that moxa smoke generated in the moxa smoke generator 220 is supplied and flown to the cupping moxa cautery device 10, whereby the cupping moxa cautery system 200 can carry out cupping therapy and moxa cautery therapy using the cupping moxa cautery device 10.

[29] The cupping moxa cautery system 200 according to the present invention can effectively use the cupping moxa cautery device 10 according to the present invention. That is, the cupping moxa cautery device previously invented by the same inventor as the present invention separately generates and uses moxa smoke, but the cupping moxa cautery system 200 according to the present invention can use moxa smoke generated from one moxa smoke generator 220 by connecting it to a number of the previously described cupping moxa cautery devices 10. Therefore, the cupping moxa cautery system 200 according to the present invention can use a number of the cupping moxa cautery devices 10 through simple preparation work, and its finishing work is also relatively simple. Additionally, like the preferred embodiment of the present invention which will be described later, if the heating unit 60 is added to the cupping moxa cautery device 10 of the present invention, the use number of the cupping moxa cautery devices can be increased. Furthermore, the cupping moxa cautery system 200 can provide a convenient massage therapy since it can obtain a vacuum through the air suction hole 214 of the pump 210 when a user executes massage therapy utilizing the cupping moxa cautery device 10 according to the present invention.

[30] Hereinafter, the preferred embodiment of the present invention will be described referring to FIGS. 4 to 10 in detailed, and parts having the same functions in FIGS. 2 to 10 have the same reference numerals. Meanwhile, technical contents which can be easily obtained from the previously invented cupping moxa cautery devices and the relevant elements, a pump, a filter, lines (tubes) for supplying an discharging the air,

electrical configuration and action of a controller, and technical contents of a heater can be easily understood to the skilled in the art, and so, their detail descriptions will be omitted or simplified, and the preferred embodiment of the present invention will be described laying stress on parts related with the present invention.

[31] FIG. 4 is a sectional view of a cupping moxa cautery device according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, and FIGS 5 to 7 are perspective views for explaining the cupping moxa cautery device of FIG. 4 in detail.

[32] Referring to FIGS. 4 to 7, the cupping moxa cautery device 10 according to the preferred embodiment of the present invention includes a lower case 20, an upper case 40, and a heating unit 60.

[33] The lower case 20 and the upper case 40 are manufactured by molding synthetic resin of a nylon material with excellent heat resistance, such as nylon TW341. In this embodiment, a heating element 90 mounted in the cupping moxa cautery device 10 generally generates heat of about 250 0 C. Therefore, the material for forming the lower case 20 and the upper case 40 must endure high temperature of 300 0 C or more. In addition, the lower case 20 and the upper case 40 must have good moldability since they are formed through injection-molding or compression-molding. So, considering heat resistance and moldability, nylon TW341 which is synthetic resin of a nylon material was used in this embodiment.

[34] The lower case 20 includes a cylindrical outer wall 22, a cylindrical inner wall 24, a cylindrical moxa cautery furnace 28 formed inside the inner wall 24 and communicating with the upper part of the lower case 20, and a cylindrical band type cupping furnace 26 formed between the outer wall 22 and the inner wall 24 and closed at the upper portion thereof. The upper portion of the lower case 20 is communicated with the moxa cautery furnace 28 inside the outer wall 22 and opened to the outside, and a vacuum regulator 30 is combined to the outer wall 22 of the lower portion of the lower case 20 from the outside to the cupping furnace 26 in order to control inflow and outflow of the air on the cupping furnace 26. The lower case 20 further includes a radiation fin 36 formed on the outer circumference of the lower case in a circumferential direction in a concavo-convex form to effectively radiate heat when the heating element 90 is used, whereby the present invention can minimize a sense of unpleasantness which the user may feel due to heat generation.

[35] The upper case 40 has a closed type upper surface 42. An O-ring 52 is combined to the circumference of the lower portion 44 of the upper case 40, and the lower portion 44 is inserted and combined to the lower case 20 in such a way that the lower portion 44 is supported by the outer wall 22 of the lower case 20. The upper case 40 includes a cavity 46 formed therein which is communicated from the upper surface 42 to the moxa cautery furnace 28 of the lower case 20. On the upper surface 42 of the upper

case 40, a smoke inlet 48 for supplying moxa smoke for moxa cautery from the outside to the cavity 46 ad a smoke outlet 50 for discharging moxa smoke of the cavity 46 to the outside are arranged at corresponding positions from the center of the upper surface 42. The upper case 40 further includes a radiation fin 56 formed on the outer circumference of the upper case in a circumferential direction in a concavo-convex form at a position corresponding to the radiation fin 36 of the lower case 20.

[36] Meanwhile, the heating unit 60 is coupled to the upper case 40. For this, the upper case 40 has a coupling hole 58 formed at the center of the upper surface 42 thereof for coupling the heating unit 60 thereto. A shielding portion 54 is formed around the heating element 90 for protecting the user from heat generated when the heating element 90 is used. The shielding portion 54 protrudes outwardly in integration with the upper surface 42 of the upper case 40, is formed in a cylindrical shape to locate the heating unit 60 inside a coupling tube 80 and surround the coupling tube 80, and has cut portions 55 formed at both sides thereof to hold the coupling tube 80 at both sides.

[37] The heating unit 60 is combined to the central position between the smoke inlet 48 and the smoke outlet 50 of the upper case 40, and the heating element 90 generating heat by electricity is inserted into the cavity 46, whereby moxa smoke is heated inside the cavity 46.

[38] As described above, the heating unit 60 includes a support tube 70, the coupling tube 80, fixing rings 88 and 88', and the heating element 90. The heating element 90 is generally a ceramic heater.

[39] The heating element 90 is connected to a heating element connector 96 which is configured of a connector-coupling type and extends from a controller.

[40] The support tube 70 is made of nylon TW341 which is synthetic resin of the same nylon material as the upper case 40 and the lower case 20. The support tube 70 is inserted into the cavity 46 from the outside after the heating element 90 is coupled into the support tube, and has a flange 72 formed on the outer circumference of the upper portion thereof protruding to the outside. The support tube 70 surrounds the heating element 90 in a cylindrical form so as to prevent exposure of heat to the outside. The support tube 70 is fixed to the cavity by the coupling tube 80.

[41] The coupling tube 80 includes a flange 82 formed at an end thereof and a screw 84 formed on the outer circumference of the other end thereof. The flange 82 is held and coupled to the inner circumference of the upper surface 42, and the other end of the coupling tube 80 protrudes to the outside through the coupling hole 58 to support the support tube 70. The fixing ring 88 coupled to the flange 72 of the support tube 70 from the outside is coupled to the screw 84 and fixes the support tube 70. As described above, the coupling tube 80 is configured to conveniently and effectively fix the support tube 70. Particularly, in this embodiment, two fixing rings 88 and 88' are used

to effectively fix the support tube 70 and prevent loosening of a locking structure through a double locking.

[42] Referring to FIGS. 5 to 7, an assembling process of the cupping moxa cautery device 10 according to the preferred embodiment of the present invention will be described. First, the coupling tube 80 is connected to the upper case 40, and the heating element 90 is connected to the support tube 70. the O-rings 82 and 52 are mounted between the coupling tube 80 and the upper case 40, and the coupling tube 80 is inserted inwardly from a direction of the cavity 46 (see FIG. 4) of the upper case 40 and protrudes upwardly from the upper case 40 through the coupling hole 58 (see FIG. 4) of the upper case 40. Thereafter, the first fixing ring 88' is coupled to the screw 84 of the coupling tube 80 to first fix the coupling tube 80 to the upper case 40. Next, the heating element 90 is inserted into the support tube 70 and coupled and fixed to a screw formed on the upper portion of the support tube 70. Thereafter, the second fixing ring 88 is located on the heating element connector 96, and then, the heating element connector 96 is coupled to the heating element 90. Next, the support tube 70 is inserted into the coupling tube 80 in such a way that the flange 72 is in close contact with an outer end of the coupling tube 80, and the fixing ring 88 is held to the flange 72 of the support tube 70 and coupled with the screw 84 of the coupling tube 80, whereby assembly of the cupping moxa cautery device 10 is completed.

[44] Referring to FIG. 8, the cupping moxa cautery system 200 according to the preferred embodiment of the present invention can carry out cupping therapy and moxa cautery therapy more conveniently and variously by applying the cupping moxa cautery device 10 according to the preferred embodiment of the present invention.

[45] The cupping moxa cautery system 200 includes the cupping moxa cautery device

10, a pump 210, a moxa smoke generator 220, a controller 230, and a filter 250. The pump 210 includes an air suction hole 214 and an air discharge hole 212 for discharging the air sucked through the air suction holes 214 and 214' to the air discharge hole 212. There are various types of the pump 210, but, in this embodiment, a small- sized pump having the air discharge hole 212 and the air suction holes 214 and 214' will be used. In this instance, the air suction holes 214 and 214' are configured in two lines formed on one air suction hole 214 mounted on the pump 210 by using a diverged valve. Therefore, if necessary, a number of the air discharge holes 212 and air suction holes 214 may be used by using the diverged valve.

[46] The moxa smoke generator 220 includes a moxa pot 221 held therein, an air suction hole 222 mounted on the upper portion thereof and connected to the air discharge hole 212 of the pump 210, a smoke discharge hole 224 formed at a side below the moxa pot

221, whereby moxa smoke generated when moxa is burned in the moxa pot 221 is discharged to the smoke discharge hole 224 by the air supplied from the pump 210. Meanwhile, the moxa smoke generator 220 may be one of the cupping moxa cautery devices (Korean Patent No. 0,419,721 and Korean Patent Application No. 10-2004-0054162) previously invented by the same inventor as the present invention. That is, as shown in FIG. 1, the cupping moxa cautery device previously invented by the same inventor as the present invention the moxa pot 530 is mounted inside the cupping moxa cautery device for forming moxa smoke for itself. Moreover, since the previously invented cupping moxa cautery device includes the moxa cautery portion 516 formed at the lower part of the device and communicating with the upper part on which the moxa pot 530 is held, and a cupping portion 518 closed from the upper part and the moxa cautery portion 516 by the inner wall 514 formed around the moxa cautery portion 516 and tightly sealed by the outer wall 515, the previously invented cupping moxa cautery device can supply moxa smoke to the cupping moxa cautery device according to this embodiment and carry out cupping therapy and moxa cautery therapy, thereby increasing a range in use.

[47] The controller 230 includes a pump control switch 232, a heater control switch 234, and a power switch 236 to control an operation speed of the pump 210 and strength of electric power supplied to the heating element 90, whereby the user can control flow speed and temperature of moxa smoke while carrying out cupping therapy and moxa cautery therapy.

[48] The cupping moxa cautery system 200 connects the air discharge hole 212 of the pump 210 with the air suction hole 222 of the moxa smoke generator 220 through an air supply line 240, connects the air suction hole 214 of the pump 210 with the smoke outlet 50 of the cupping moxa cautery device 10 through a smoke exhaust line 246, and connects the smoke discharge hole 224 of the moxa smoke generator 220 with the smoke inlet 48 of the moxa cautery device 10 through a smoke supply line 242, whereby moxa smoke generated in the moxa smoke generator 220 is supplied and flown to the cupping moxa cautery device 10. So, the cupping moxa cautery system 200 can carry out cupping therapy and moxa cautery therapy using the cupping moxa cautery device 10. In this instance, in the case where a number of cupping moxa cautery devices 10 are used, the cupping moxa cautery device 10 and another cupping moxa cautery device 10' are connected with each other through a smoke intermediation line 244, and the smoke exhaust line 246 is connected to the smoke outlet 50 of the final cupping moxa cautery device 10'. In addition, each heating element 90 of the cupping moxa cautery device 10 and 10' is connected with the heater control switch 234 of the controller 230 through a power supply line 270 to control electricity supplied to the heating element 90 of the cupping moxa cautery device 10 and 10',

whereby temperature of moxa smoke inside the cupping moxa cautery device 10 and 10' can be controlled.

[49] Meanwhile, the cupping moxa cautery system 200 according to this embodiment connects the air suction hole 214' of the pump 210 with a vacuum regulator 30 of the cupping moxa cautery device 10 through a vacuum line 260, whereby the degree of vacuum on the cupping furnace 26 (see FIG. 4) of the cupping moxa cautery device 10 can be always controlled to a fixed level by the pump 210, so that the cupping moxa cautery system 200 can provide a cupping massage effect while the cupping moxa cautery device 10 is moved. In this instance, a cap 262 suitable for the vacuum regulator 30 is mounted at an end of the vacuum line 260. As described above, the cupping moxa cautery device previously invented by the same inventor as the present invention may be applied to the moxa smoke generator 220 according to this embodiment, and in this case, it can be applied also to a vacuum regulator 226 mounted on the moxa smoke generator 220 in the same way.

[51] Referring to FIGS. 9 and 10, as described above, the cupping moxa cautery system

200 according to the present invention uses a number of the cupping moxa cautery devices 10 which can carry out cupping therapy and moxa cautery therapy by receiving moxa smoke, and provides the cupping massage effect by the vacuum acting through the pump 210. Moreover, the cupping moxa cautery device 10 according to this embodiment can be applied to various parts of a human body, and for this, adsorption plates 150, 150', 160 and 170 are additionally provided. The adsorption plates 150, 150', 160 and 170 can be applied to each part of the human body in the best suited way. For instance, FIGS. 9 and 10 show an adsorption plate 150 for a face, an adsorption plate 150' for the shoulders and back, an adsorption plate 160 for the head, and an adsorption plate 170 for the sole of the foot. The adsorption plates 150, 150', 160 and 170 are different from each other in their shapes according to applied body parts, but, have cupping portions 152 and 172 and moxa cautery portions 154, 164 and 174 corresponding to the cupping moxa cautery device 10. In this instance, the adsorption plate 160 for the head has only the moxa cautery portion 164 since it is difficult to carry out cupping in fact. The adsorption plates 150, 150' and 170 providing the cupping function respectively have vacuum holes 153 and 173 for forming a vacuum.

[52] While the present invention has been described with reference to the particular illustrative embodiments it is not to be restricted by the embodiment but only by the appended claims. It is to be appreciated that those skilled in the art can change or modify the embodiment without departing from the scope and spirit of the present

invention.

Mode for the Invention

[53] To achieve the above objects, in an aspect of the present invention, the present invention provides a cupping moxa cautery device which can carry out cupping therapy and moxa cautery therapy at the same time, comprising: a lower case having a cylindrical outer wall, a cylindrical inner wall, a cylindrical moxa cautery furnace formed inside the inner wall and communicating with the upper part of the lower case, and a cylindrical band type cupping furnace formed between the outer wall and the inner wall and closed at the upper portion thereof, the upper portion of the lower case being opened to the outside and communicating with the moxa cautery furnace inside the outer wall, wherein a vacuum regulator is combined to the outer wall of the lower portion of the lower case from the outside to the cupping furnace in order to control inflow and outflow of the air on the cupping furnace; and upper case having a closed upper surface, an O-ring combined to the periphery of the lower portion thereof, the lower portion thereof being inserted and combined to the outer wall of the lower case in such a way that the lower portion of the upper case is supported by the outer wall of the lower case, a cavity formed therein communicating from the upper surface to the moxa cautery furnace of the lower case, a smoke inlet formed on the upper surface for supplying moxa smoke from the outside to the cavity, and a smoke outlet formed at a position corresponding to the smoke inlet from the center of the upper surface for discharging moxa smoke of the cavity to the outside, whereby moxa smoke generated by burning moxa from the outside is circulated through the smoke inlet and the smoke outlet.

[54] The cupping moxa cautery device further comprises a heating unit combined to the center of the upper surface between the smoke inlet and the smoke outlet of the upper case, and the heating unit has a heating element generating heat by electricity and inserted and located into the cavity to heat moxa smoke inside the cavity.

[55] The upper and lower cases are made of nylon synthetic resin, and the upper case has a coupling hole formed at the center of the upper surface of the upper case for combining the heating unit, wherein the heating unit is made of the same material as the upper and lower cases, is inserted and located into the cavity from the outside in a state where the heating element is mounted therein, and includes: a support tube mounted on the upper portion protruding to the outside, the support tube having a flange formed on the outer circumference thereof; and a coupling tube having a flange formed at an end thereof, a screw formed on the outer circumference of the other end thereof, the flange being held and connected to the inner circumference of the upper surface, the other end thereof protruding to the outside through the coupling hole to

support the support tube, and a fixing ring coupled to the flange of the support tube from the outside and coupled with the screw to fix the support tube.

[56] The cupping moxa cautery device further comprises a shielding portion protruding outwardly in integration with the upper surface of the upper case and formed in a cylindrical shape to locate the coupling tube therein and surround the coupling tube, the shielding portion having cut portions formed at both sides to hold the coupling tube at both sides.

[57] The upper and lower cases respectively have radiation fins formed on the outer peripheries thereof in a circumferential direction in a concavo-convex form.

[58] In another aspect of the present invention, the present invention provides a cupping moxa cautery system, which can carry out cupping therapy and moxa cautery therapy at the same time by using the cupping moxa cautery device, comprising: a pump having an air suction hole and an air discharge hole for discharging the air sucked through the air suction hole to the air discharge hole; and a moxa smoke generator having a moxa pot held therein, an air suction hole mounted on the upper portion thereof and connected with the air discharge hole of the pump, a smoke discharge hole formed at a side thereof below the moxa pot, whereby moxa smoke generated by burning moxa of the moxa pot is discharged to the smoke discharge hole by the air supplied from the pump, wherein the air suction hole of the pump and the smoke outlet of the cupping moxa cautery device are connected with each other through a smoke exhaust line, and the smoke discharge hole of the moxa smoke generator and the smoke inlet of the cupping moxa cautery device are connected with each other through a smoke supply line, whereby moxa smoke formed in the moxa smoke generator is supplied and flown to the cupping moxa cautery device so as to carry out cupping therapy and moxa cautery therapy using the cupping moxa cautery device.

[59] In a further aspect of the present invention, the present invention provides a cupping moxa cautery system, which can carry out cupping therapy and moxa cautery therapy at the same time by using the cupping moxa cautery device, comprising: a pump having an air suction hole and an air discharge hole for discharging the air sucked through the air suction hole to the air discharge hole; a moxa smoke generator having a moxa pot held therein, an air suction hole mounted on the upper portion thereof and connected with the air discharge hole of the pump, a smoke discharge hole formed at a side thereof below the moxa pot, whereby moxa smoke generated by burning moxa of the moxa pot is discharged to the smoke discharge hole by the air supplied from the pump; and a controller for controlling an operational speed of the pump and strength of electricity supplied to the heating element of the cupping moxa cautery device, wherein the air suction hole of the pump and the smoke outlet of the cupping moxa cautery device are connected with each other through a smoke exhaust line, and the

smoke discharge hole of the moxa smoke generator and the smoke inlet of the cupping moxa cautery device are connected with each other through a smoke supply line, whereby moxa smoke formed in the moxa smoke generator is supplied and flown to the cupping moxa cautery device so as to carry out cupping therapy and moxa cautery therapy using the cupping moxa cautery device, and wherein temperature of moxa smoke in the cupping moxa cautery device can be controlled by controlling electricity supplied to the heating element of the cupping moxa cautery device.

[60] The moxa smoke generator includes a moxa cautery portion formed at the lower part thereof and communicating with the upper part thereof on which the moxa pot is held, and a cupping portion closed from the upper part and the moxa cautery portion by the inner wall formed around the moxa cautery portion and tightly sealed by the outer wall, whereby cupping therapy and moxa cautery therapy can be carried out while moxa smoke is supplied to the cupping moxa cautery device.

[61] The air suction hole of the pump and the vacuum regulator of the cupping moxa cautery device are connected with each other through a vacuum line, whereby the degree of vacuum on the cupping furnace of the cupping moxa cautery device is always controlled to a fixed level by the pump to carry out a cupping massage while the cupping moxa cautery device is moved. Industrial Applicability

[62] The present invention relates to a cupping moxa cautery device and a cupping moxa cautery system using the cupping moxa cautery device, and more particularly, to a cupping moxa cautery device, which can be used together with a cupping moxa cautery device previously invented by the same inventor as the present invention, and a cupping moxa cautery system using the cupping moxa cautery device, thereby simultaneously carrying out cupping therapy and moxa cautery therapy widely used as Chinese medical treatment.
