Abstract:
Provided are a curing apparatus and an ink jet recording apparatus with which a curable material can be more efficiently cured. A curing apparatus that applies prescribed energy to a curable material to cure the same is provided with: a suctioning section (32) which performs, on an opposite side from a placement surface side of a placement member (311), a suctioning operation to suction gas via a plurality of hole parts of the placement member (311), and by which a member (P) to be placed is suction-attracted onto the placement surface in a suction-attracting region of a movement path; a gas supplying section (34) that supplies low-oxygen gas onto the placement surface in a first region of the suction-attracting region; and an energy providing section (35) that provides energy to a curable material on the member (P) to be placed being suction-attracted onto the placement surface, in a second region downstream of the first region in the suction-attracting region with respect to a movement direction of the placement surface. The suctioning section (32) performs the suctioning operation so that a suctioning force in the first region becomes smaller than a suctioning force outside the first region.
