Abstract:
A current detection device (120) comprises: a current detection unit (200) that detects a current value of each phase on the basis of the voltage drop of each resistive element (RS1-RS3) serially connected to a lower arm element of a PWM-controlled multi-phase inverter (104); a total sum calculation unit (201) that calculates the total sum of the current detection values for all phases; a maximum duty phase determining unit (203) that determines the phase in which an upper arm element is driven at the maximum duty ratio; an output switching unit (204) that, if the total sum of the current detection values for all phases is at least a threshold value, outputs, as the current detection value of the phase in which the upper arm element is driven at the maximum duty ratio, a value obtained by inverting the sign of the sum of the current detection values detected by the current detection unit (200) for the remaining phases; and a threshold value determination unit that determines the threshold value corresponding to the total sum for all phases of the current detection values detected at duty ratios at which current can be detected by the current detection unit.
