Abstract:
According to the invention, thermal damage to the compound conductor may be avoided, even on long-lasting short circuit currents, in a current-limiting device (1), for the resistive limitation of a current, with a support substrate (2) made from an insulating material and a composite conductor arranged on the support substrate, comprising a superconducting layer which may be transformed into a superconducting state by means of a coolant and a commutation layer (4), whereby an external metallic heat-conducting layer (6) is provided on the insulation layer (5), suitable for the dissipation of heat from the insulation layer (5) to the coolant.
