Abstract:
This current-limiting device (10), which uses a superconductor to limit current flow, is provided with the following: a superconducting current-limiting element (8) containing a superconductor; a capacitor (series capacitor (1)); an inductor (current-limiting inductor (6)); and a bypass switch (thyristor switch (4)). The series capacitor (1) is connected in series with the superconducting current-limiting element (8). The current-limiting inductor (6) is further connected in series with the series circuit containing the superconducting current-limiting element (8) and the series capacitor (1). The thyristor switch (4) is connected in parallel with said series circuit.
