Abstract:

[Problem] To provide a curtain air-bag device capable of preventing a cushion from damaging or becoming caught by a front pillar trim upon expansion and deployment. [Solution] A cushion 102 of a curtain air-bag device 100 is expanded and deployed on a side wall of a cabin so as to arrest a passenger. The curtain air-bag device 100 is provided with the cushion 102, which has a bag shape and adapted to expand and deploy toward the front of the vehicle at the passenger's seat, and a first strap 148. The first strap 148 has one end thereof 156 affixed to a front pillar 104 and another end 162 affixed to the vehicle inner side of the cushion 102 in a long and thin storage configuration. The first strap 148 is moved and tensioned inside the vehicle by the expansion and deployment of the cushion 102, whereby a front pillar trim 184 covering the front pillar 104 is pushed inside the vehicle.
