Abstract:
A fastener (100) suitable for securing side curtain airbags (112) in a vehicle has a body (120) with a deflectable collet (144) and a locking pin (122) received in the collet (144). The pin (122) has a head (212), a shaft (210)and a region (240) between the head (212) and the shaft (210) that accommodates less torque applied to the head (212) than is accommodated by the head (212). The region (240) receives torque applied to the head (212) only if the pin (122) is inserted insufficiently in the collet (144). If the pin (122) is inserted adequately, torque applied to the head (212) is transferred to the body (120).
