AMENDED SHEET (ARTICLE 19)

Description:
DESCRIPTION

"Cut resistant and anti-burglary system for safety locks "

~k ~k ~k The present invention relates to a cut resistant and anti-burglary system for safety locks.

In particular, the present invention relates to a cut resistant and anti-burglary system for safety locks of different models and types, as the most common locks for European cylinder AX1, or the dual map locks AX2, or the locks with rounded profile cylinders AX2.1, or the double system cylinder (European cylinder AX2.2 and double map; European cylinder and European cylinder AX2.3; double map and double map AX2.4), or, finally, for each type of existing lock on the market.

As you know, given the growing number of thefts in recent years, the passive anti-burglary security systems were improved. In fact today, in the vast majority of security doors manganese plates and protection studs for the European cylinder are installed. The manganese plates serve to reinforce the sheet in front of the lock, while the protection studs protect the European cylinder from a possible extraction / tearing. Recently these studs have been further enhanced. In fact, using a handmade or standard steel pipe, it was easy to simultaneous break the fastening bolts of the stud and of the middle cylinder itself and the consequent opening of the door.

In an effort to eliminate this drawback, the companies have also introduced on the market the studs having adjustable height and / or oblique profile.

Another very effective solution is a boss-profile stud (or bell profile stud) making difficult to extract the stud from the door, because embedded within the leaf of the door .

Further, protection studs exist also for the double map models.

Although this type of solutions offered by the market can be considered useful for the majority of security doors in apartment of buildings placed in not isolated areas, these are not sufficient for preventing the burglary of more isolated buildings and / or for extremely "sensitive targets" as Embassies, Prisons, Barracks, Government Offices and the like.

In fact, even in the presence of latest generation plates and studs, in certain specific situations and circumstances, these are practically ineffective, since using the appropriate instruments, such as drills, and special milling cutters, attackers are capable of cutting both the first layer of the metal sheet and the manganese plate and any lip of the socket stud. So, once you have created a minimum space for the insertion of a tube, both the stud and the half cylinder of the lock can break and then tear off.

Purpose of the present invention is to provide a cut resistant and anti-burglary system for safety locks, having, therefore, characteristics such as to overcome the limitations that influence the previously described devices .

According to the present invention, a cut resistant and anti-burglary system for safety locks is provided, as defined in claim 1.

For a better understanding of the present invention it is now described a preferred embodiment, purely by way of non-limiting example, with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:

- Figure 1 shows a three dimensional view of parts of a cut resistant and anti-burglary system for safety locks, according to the invention;

Figure 2 shows a three dimensional exploded view of a safety lock comprising the cut resistant and anti- burglary system for safety locks, according to the invention;

Figure 3 shows a schematic section view of a metal plate of the cut resistant and anti-burglary system for safety locks, according to the invention;

Figure 4 shows a bi-dimensional schematic section of the exploded view of a rolling group of the cut resistant and anti-burglary system for safety locks, according to the invention;

- Figure 5 shows a view along a section A-A of the of the cut resistant and anti-burglary system for safety locks, according to the invention.

In reference to these figures and, in particular to Figures 1 and 2, a cut resistant and anti-burglary system for safety locks is shown, according to the invention.

In detail, cut resistant and anti-burglary system for safety locks 100 shown in Figure 2 comprises a metal plate 101, provided with a cylindrical seat 102 having a diameter dl and a hole 103 coaxial with the cylindrical seat 102, and a rolling group 104. Furthermore, the figure 2 shows a lock block 108 having a protection stud 109 for a lock cylinder 110 to be mounted on the cut resistant and anti- burglary system 100 and a plate 111 for frame on which the entire system 100 has to be installed. The plate 111 comprises a central hole 111a having the same diameter of the hole 103 of the metal plate 101, so that within the holes 103 and 111a, aligned each other, the protection stud 109 housing the lock cylinder 110 can be inserted.

More in detail, the rolling group 104 comprises two metal rings 105 and 106, and a rolling bearing 107 comprised between two metal rings 105 and 106. The system 100 also comprises a snap ring 112 useful to block the whole rolling group 104 inside the housing 102 of the plate 101. By way of example, the snap ring 112 is of the "Seeger" type.

Figure 3 shows the metal plate 101 having thickness s, with the cylindrical seat 102 having diameter dl and depth t, less than s, the hole 103 having diameter d2, lower than dl, coaxial to the cylindrical seat 102 and a circular seat 101a having thickness z for the snap ring 112.

A section view of the rolling group 104 is shown in Figure 4. In particular, the rolling bearing 107 has a thickness r, outer diameter d4 and internal diameter d5.

The metal ring 105 has thickness k, outer diameter dl equal to that one of the cylindrical seat 102 and internal diameter d2 equal to that one of the hole 103. The metal ring 106 has thickness k, outer diameter dl equal to that one of the cylindrical seat 102 and inner diameter d3 comprised between d2 and d5.

Moreover, advantageously according to the invention, the first metal ring 105 is internally provided with a half-conical lip for better housing the rolling bearing 107.

Advantageously according to the invention, the increased thickness of the plate 101 with respect to those normally used and the possible presence of alloying elements in the metal that enhance the hardness, are such as to ensure adequate protection to the cutting tempted by using high strength tools, because these features slow down the feed rate of these tools.

Advantageously according to the invention, the thickness s of the plate 101 configured for housing the rolling group 104 and the snap ring 112 is greater than or equal to 12 mm.

According to an aspect of the invention, the cylindrical seat 102 present on plate 101 has a thickness value t comprised between a first value equal to 2k + r and a second value equal to the thickness s of the plate 101, such as to allow inside the housing of the rolling group 104, thus realizing a single body with the plate 101. According to a further aspect of the invention the thickness of the snap ring 112 is equal to the depth z of the circular recess 101a of the plate 101, and, in particular, greater than or equal to 2 mm.

As shown in Figure 5, the protection stud 109 of the lock cylinder 110 is placed coaxially to the rings 105, 106 and to the bearing 107 mounted within the seat 102.

Advantageously, the rolling group 104 can be installed on a wide range of existing studs 109.

Advantageously according to the invention, the metal rings 105 and 106 have thickness k lower than the thickness t of the cylindrical seat 102, and, more specifically equal to 2 mm.

Advantageously according to the invention, the bearing 107 has thickness r greater than or equal to 2 mm.

According to an aspect of the invention, the presence of the edge on the ring 105 ensures the containment of the bearing 107.

With reference to Figure 5, during a possible burglary attempt of the frame 111, the use of a special milling cutter only allows the cutting of the outer layer of the frame 111 and of the adjacent metal plate 101, but does not allow further advances, which are also slowed by the system 100. In fact, the rolling group 104 including the roller bearing 107 and the metal rings 105, 106 stop any burglary attempt advancement. In particular, the stop of the cutting part of a burglary tool can be guaranteed by the cooperation of the bearing 107 and the metal ring 105, so that the metal ring 105 become neutral respect to the tool and is placed in rotation together with the tool.

Advantageously according to the invention, the cut resistant and anti-burglary system for safety locks can be applied in different types of locks installed in many passive security products, such as doors, safes, security cabinets, and on any other type of frame and security frame, such as gates, shutters, overhead doors and the like .

Advantageously according to the invention, the cut resistant and anti-burglary system for safety locks can be applied both in the phase of new construction of the products or buildings or in phase of renovation of existing products, where this is structurally possible.

Therefore, the cut resistant and anti-burglary system for safety locks according to the invention is composed by low cost elements.

Another advantage of the cut resistant and anti- burglary system for safety locks according to the invention is the simplicity of construction. Finally, the cut resistant and anti-burglary system for safety locks according to the invention is versatile, since it is easily installed in different applications.

Finally it is clear that the cut resistant and anti- burglary system for safety locks described and illustrated here can be modified and varied without by this departing from the protective scope of the present invention, as defined in the appended claims.
