Abstract:
A cutter device has a movable blade and a stationary blade. The movable blade has a body as part of a circumferential wall of a circular hollow cylinder and a blade edge as at least part of one edge of the body which edge extends in a direction substantially along the central axis of the body, and is rotated about the central axis. The stationary blade is provided at a position where the stationary blade and the blade edge of the movable blade slide on each other when the movable blade is rotated. In the cutter device, a state where paper is fed to the cutter device and a state where the paper is cut can be switched to each other only by rotating the movable blade. As a consequence, a cutter device driven by a simple drive mechanism and a more compact printer with a cutting function can be provided.
