Abstract:
A cutter which, when cutting a thin workpiece, can provide the workpiece with a neat cut surface. The cutter (A) cuts a thin workpiece (W) by causing an upper blade (movable blade) (2) to cross a lower blade (fixed blade)(1). The cutter (A) has the lower blade (1) held by a table (31) of a machine base (3), the upper blade (2) held above the machine base (3) at a predetermined shear angle (α) and adapted to descend while swinging, and a workpiece pressing mechanism (9) mounted on the inner side of the upper blade (2) and pressing from above the thin workpiece (W) conveyed onto the table (31). With the workpiece (W) pressed by the workpiece pressing mechanism (9) so as not to move, the upper blade (2) is lowered while being swung, causing the edge of the upper blade (2) to obliquely cross the lower blade (1). During this process, the cutting angle of the upper blade (2) is gradually reduced to sequentially draw cut the workpiece (W) from one end to the other end thereof.
