Abstract:
A cutting apparatus eliminating the need of a work placing table interfering with the flange of a circular saw and capable of using the circular saw with a small diameter. A fixed vice (84) directly supporting one side-part (12a) of a pipe (12) and a movable vice (86) capable of freely advancing and retreating relative to the fixed vice (84) and directly supporting the other side-part (12b) of the pipe (12) in advancing are disposed near the work cutting position of the cutting apparatus. Also, a work support part (78) stopping the upward movement of the pipe (12) by its contact with the upper part of the pipe (12) arriving at the work cutting position and supporting a load acting on the pipe (12) is formed on the upper part of the work cutting position. The both side-parts (12a) and (12b) of the pipe (12) are held by the both vices (84) and (86), and the circular saw (10) is raised from the lower side of the pipe (12) in the upwardly positioned state of the pipe by the work support part (78) for cutting.
