Abstract:
A cutting assembly for a rotary trimmer slidably mounted for movement on a fixed rail elevated over a surface adapted to receive a target arrange on a table to be cut, which has a spring loaded carriage assembly biased away from the surface but adapted for movement when the carriage is pressed toward the target surface so that the cutting blade in the trimmer is exposed to the target for making the cut as the cutting assembly is moved both along the rail and toward the table, both horizontally and vertically. The cutting assembly may include a ruler or edge guide which can guide the cutting fade against the target as the cutting assembly is moved horizontally and vertically to make the cut.
