Abstract:
Provided are a treatment method and a cutting balloon catheter with which an appropriate expanded diameter can be obtained by selectively making a cut into a site where a cut is easily made. A cutting balloon catheter (10) comprises: a balloon (30) which is expandable and contractible due to a change in the internal pressure thereof; a shaft part (20), to a distal section of which the balloon (30) is fixed; an operation member (60) which is arranged on the proximal side of the balloon (30) and which is movable in the axial direction relative to the shaft part (20); and one or more linear cutting members (70) each of which has a distal-side end section (71) connected to a portion, of the shaft part (20), positioned on the distal side relative to the balloon (30), and has a proximal-side end section (72) connected to the operation member (60), and which are arranged on the outer side, in the radial direction, of the balloon (30), the linear cutting members (70) being capable of deforming separately from the balloon (30).
