A method for manufacturing a cutting component. The cutting component has a first portion (4) used for support, a second portion (5) used for forming a cutting blade, and a third portion (6) for connecting the first portion and the second portion. The manufacturing method comprises: providing a first metallic material for forming the first portion (4); providing a second metallic material for forming the second portion (5); welding the first metallic material and second metallic material using a high energy beam, with a welded portion forming the third portion (6); and performing, after welding, heat treatment on the unfinished cutting portion. Further provided is a type of cutting component. A first portion (4) consists of a first metallic material. A second portion (5) consists of a second metallic material. After welding, a metallic phase structure of a third portion (6) and the surrounding structure generally does not contain a pore. A cutting component obtained by using the manufacturing method has properties such as a blade body with excellent toughness and a cutting blade with high hardness, wherein the blade body and cutting blade are not prone to breaking. The cutting component has a long service life.
