Abstract:
The present invention is a device for cutting, in a direction perpendicular to a prescribed direction, a web member that continues in the prescribed direction and has multiple fibers including rattan aligned in the prescribed direction. The cutting device has a disc-shaped rotating-blade member for cutting the web member by rotating around a rotation axis aligned with the prescribed direction while relatively moving in a direction perpendicular to the web member. The blade tip on the outer-circumferential edge section of the rotating-blade member has multiple recesses formed along the circumferential direction of the rotating-blade member. The average length in the circumferential direction of the multiple recesses is smaller than the average diameter of the rattan contained in the web member.
