In the present invention, it is possible to prevent a cutting insert for grooving from coming out of an insert attachment seat when a tool is used, and it is possible to improve attachability by preventing dislodging of said groove cutting insert when said groove cutting insert is mounted in the installation attachment seat. A rod-shaped grooving cutting insert 20 in which: a blade part 27 is formed at one of the two ends along the direction L in which the rod shape extends, and a clamped part 28 is formed at a location other than the one end along the extending direction L; wherein the clamped part 28 has an upper surface 24 facing in the same direction as a rake face 22 and a lower surface 25 facing the opposite side from the upper surface 24, and the upper surface 24 is provided with a guide part 24a formed so as lie parallel to the lower surface 25, and a pressed part 24b positioned adjacent to the one end side of the guide part 24 in the extending direction L and formed at an incline relative to the lower surface 25 so as to approach the lower surface 25 heading toward the one end.
