Abstract:

This cutting insert comprises: a primary face that has a substantially parallelogram shape in the plan view and that has a pair of acute angle corners and a pair of obtuse angle corners; a seating face that faces the side opposite to the primary face; a side face that connects between the primary face and seating face; a corner blade provided on an acute angle corner; and a primary cutting edge and a secondary cutting edge that are each provided on a pair of side ridges of the primary face disposed with the acute angle corner therebetween. A mounting hole in which a fixing member is inserted passes through the primary face and the seating face. The primary cutting edge is inclined at an angle of inclination of 8° or more with respect to the plane orthogonal to the axial direction of the mounting hole so as to be closer to the seating face side in the direction from the acute angle corner to the obtuse angle corner. The primary face has a region that is inclined in a direction away from the seating face following the edge of the mounting hole from the obtuse angle corner along a diagonal line connecting the pair of obtuse angle corners to each other.
