Abstract:
A cutting insert according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a top surface, a bottom surface, a side surface, a cutting edge, and a fastening hole, wherein the cutting insert is of a positive type and is 180-degree rotationally symmetric about the fastening hole. The cutting edge includes a main cutting edge, a sub-cutting edge, and a diagonal cutting edge, and the side surface includes a main side surface having a main cutting edge margin surface connected to the main cutting edge and a sub-side surface including a sub-cutting edge margin surface connected to the sub-cutting edge and a diagonal cutting edge margin surface connected to the diagonal cutting edge. At each of opposite ends of the bottom surface, a fastening groove is formed in a direction extending along the diagonal cutting edge margin surface to be stepped with respect to the sub-side surface. A fastening surface, which comes into contact with a cutting tool in the fastening groove, is of a reversely positive type.
