Abstract:

The cutting insert of an embodiment of the present invention is configured so that the upper face of the cutting insert has, in order: a first rake face located along a cutting edge and sloping at a first rake angle toward the lower face as the first rake face extends inward from the cutting edge, the first rake angle being defined relative to a vertical plane perpendicular to the center axis penetrating through the upper and lower faces; and a second rake face located further toward the inside than the first rake face and sloping at a second rake angle toward the lower face, the second rake angle being defined relative to the vertical plane and being different from the first rake angle. The line of intersection between the first rake face and the second rake face has a bulge, which is the highest point, in a region along a second side face. Also provided are a cutting tool provided with the cutting insert, and a method for manufacturing a cut product using the cutting tool.
