Abstract:
This cutting insert is provided with: a top face having a second side section, a first corner, and a second corner; and a cutting edge. The top face furthermore has a first face and a second face. The cutting edge has a first cutting edge positioned at the first corner, a second cutting edge positioned at the second side section, and a third cutting edge positioned at the second corner. The second face has a first region extending toward the first corner, and a second region extending toward the second corner. The length D7 of the first face is greatest in a center section of the second side section. The interval D1 between the first region and the cutting edge is smaller on a the second cutting edge side than on a first cutting edge side. The interval D2 between the second region and the cutting edge is smaller on the second cutting edge side than on a third cutting edge side.
