Abstract:
The cutting insert may have an upper surface, a lower surface, a side surface, and a cutting edge. The upper surface may have a first corner, a first side, a second side, and a relief surface. The cutting edge may be positioned at the intersection of the upper surface and the side surface. The cutting edge may have a first cutting edge positioned at the first corner, and a second cutting edge positioned on the first side. The first cutting edge may have a first portion. The first portion may be positioned between the center of the first corner and the first side, and may approach a reference surface in association with increasing distance from the first side. The relief surface may have a first region positioned along the first portion. The relief angle in the first region may decrease in association with decreasing distance from the center of the first corner.
