Abstract:
The present invention pertains to a cutting insert provided with two opposing end surfaces, a peripheral side surface extending between the end surfaces, and a plurality of cutting-blade sections formed along intersecting-ridge parts between the end surfaces and the peripheral side surface. Each of the cutting-blade sections includes a corner cutting blade, a main cutting blade, and a secondary cutting blade. A non-cutting intersecting-ridge region extending between adjacent cutting-blade sections at one of the end surfaces is adjacent, across the peripheral side surface, to at least a part of the main cutting blade and the corner cutting blade of a related cutting-blade section at the other end surface.
