Abstract:
This cutting insert has a top surface, a bottom surface, and a side surface. The bottom surface is on an opposite side to the top surface. The side surface is continuous with both the top surface and the bottom surface. A ridge line between the top surface and the side surface has a first end and a second end on an opposite side to the first end, and comprises a curved nose cutting edge part, a main cutting edge part continuous with the first end, and a wiper cutting edge part continuous with the second end. The top surface comprises a first rake surface continuous with the wiper cutting edge part, a second rake surface continuous with the main cutting edge part, and a third rake surface continuous with the nose cutting edge part and continuous with both the first rake surface and the second rake surface. A border line between the second rake surface and the third rake surface is separated from the first end and continuous with the main cutting edge part.
