Abstract:
Provided is a cutting plotter capable of cutting a wide sheet with a high cutting quality. The cutting plotter (1) has a guide rail (15a), a carriage (21) laterally movable along the rail (15a), a cutting blade (26) mounted on the carriage for a vertical motion and a control unit that controls the lateral motion of the carriage (21) and the vertical motion of the cutting blade (26). While controlling the lateral motion of the carriage (21) along the rail (15a), the control unit also controls the vertical motion of the carriage so that the distance between the cutting blade (26) and the sheet (M) is larger or smaller than a predetermined value, the control units moves the cutting blade (26) downward or upward respectively.
