Abstract:
This cutting tool includes a tool body (2) having insert support seats (5) and cutting inserts mounted on the insert support seats, each of said insert support seats comprising a main seat surface (5a) for supporting a seat surface of a cutting insert, multiple seat side surfaces (5b, 5c) for supporting side surfaces of the cutting insert at different positions, and thin-walled sections (5d) which connect to the main seat surface and the seat side surfaces. Ridge lines formed at positions where the main seat surface and the thin-walled sections intersect, ridge lines formed at positions where the seat side surfaces and the thin-walled sections intersect, and ridge lines formed at positions where adjoining thin-walled sections intersect are each formed into convex arc-like curved surfaces.
