Abstract:
A cutting tool insert (10, 10´), the insert (10, 10´) is massive. The insert(10, 10´) comprises a combining portion used for connection and a cutting tip (12) at one end; the cutting tip (12) comprises a cutting face (13) on the top and an end face (120). The angle between the cutting face (13) and the end face (120) is an acute angle, thereby the end face (120) inclines inward, and a cutting edge (14) is formed along an outer edge of the cutting face (13). At least one nick groove (15, 15´,15A) is formed on the cutting edge (14). During the process of cutting, the stress distribution near the nick groove (15, 15´,15A) will not continuous. Chips (21) break down near the nick groove (15, 15´,15A) and small chips are produced, thereby the chip removal capacity and the processing speed are improved.
