Abstract:
A cutting tool of an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a holder (3) that is a column-shaped body and has an insert pocket (9); and a cutting insert (5) that is positioned in the insert pocket. The insert pocket has openings (9a, 9b) at a first end-side end surface of the holder and at an outer peripheral surface of the holder. The cutting insert has a first part (5a) that is located toward an inner periphery side from the outer periphery-side opening (9b) of the insert pocket in a front view of the first end of the holder. A width (W1) of the first part is larger than a width (W2) of the opening in a direction extending along a rotation direction of a rotary axis.
