[Problem to be solved]To provide a tool that can prevent chip packing. [Means to solve the problem] A cutting tool has a body (2), a hole (3) that has an open end at the end of the tool (2), a wall (4) defined by the hole (3) and the outer peripheral surface (2b) of the body(2), a cut-out portion (5) that extends from an end of the wall (4) into the hole (3), and a cutting edge portion (6) formed at the intersection between the cut-out portion (5) and the wall end (4). A work piece is cut by a bottom edge (6a). The cutting edge portion (6) has an internal surface (6h) which passes through the inner end (6e) of the bottom edge (6a) and intersects a rake face. The internal surface (6h) is inclined from an imaginary bottom surface that is formed when the inner edge (6e) is rotated about an axis (O) away from the imaginary surface as viewed in the reversed direction of the rotation of the tool. Due to the inclination of the cutting edge portion (6), chips are easily eliminated in the reversed direction of the tool and chip packing can be prevented.
