Abstract:
Provided is a cutting tool such that the quantity of main body sections discarded and the quantity of cutting heads discarded can be restricted and that vibrations during cutting work can be suppressed. In the cutting tool (100), a Heli-Sert insert (20) which is formed of steel having lower stiffness than that of cemented carbide is interposed between a male threaded section (32) and a female threaded section (11). Due to the above, the male threaded section (32) and the female threaded section (11) are prevented from being in contact with each other, with the result that the fracture of the thread (33) of the male threaded section (32) and the thread (12) of the female threaded section (11) can be restricted. Furthermore, since steel has stiffness lower than that of cemented carbide, it is possible to damp vibrations of a cutting head (30) with respect to a main body section (10) by interposing the Heli-Sert insert (20) between the male threaded section (32) and the female threaded section (11).
